Drink and Doodle Fort Myers

Drink and Doodle Fort Myers!!

Friday September 28th @ French Connection in Downtown Fort Myers

10 Artist will gather around one table to create new pieces of art with an edgy flair. All artists will have the same size of paper but will be allowed to use whatever media they choose to create their own piece. At the end of the event, all art work will go up for sale for $50 each. Each artist will also have their artwork displayed throughout French Connection as well. The art work will be on sale and will also give guests a great example of each artist's diverse style.

This event is a great way to promote local artists that may not be prominent in our area and also bring about some new styles of art. The Fort Myers art scene is growing rapidly. By bringing together local artists, with styles that have become popular in areas such as Miami, San Francisco and NYC, an unseen new flavor of art is about to be unleashed downtown.

At this event the public is welcome and encouraged to come. The public may converse with the artists as well as watch. Many of these artists have their work in galleries downtown and people's homes, but collectors never get to see them actually work. This event brings the creative process to the public eye and welcomes everyone to witness this profound process.

Future plans will be for "Drink and Doodle" to become a monthly event. Using a new location each month, such as Arts for Act, Wallace Gallery and Alliance for the Arts. All of which expressing interest in hosting this event for future dates. Artists will change monthly as well, to keep a new vibe each gathering.

The inspiration for this event came from one of my favorite artist Ash Lethal and ABV gallery in Atlanta.

Sell or Hoard!?!

Still new to the art scene I'm having separation anxiety. As silly as it sounds it's happening.
You put so much love, excitement and care into each piece. Some get more love than others. This piece pictured above on records in one of those pieces that was loved just a bit more than my other recent pieces. It is not just assembly line production. There is a part of me in each piece. I create art that makes me happy with hopes of bringing a smile to others which is why I create.
Does my separation anxiety go away as time goes by and I sell more art? Or will I become a hoarder and starving artist all in one fell swoop?
Only time will tell................
You'll probably get the answer if I can't find my computer one day from hoarding and the blog posts stop. If that happens please send art collectors to my door!
